1. Angthong National Marine Park

In Koh Samui's view, Ang Thong Park is a protected area with more than 100m2 of land and sea and is home to many wildlife and exotic marine life.


2. Big Buddha

On the north coast of Koh Samui is the famous big Buddhist temple. Perhaps Samui's most famous landmark, the 12-meter-high golden Buddha can be seen from a few kilometers away. There is also a small market that sells a variety of lucky charms and other souvenirs, next to many food stalls.


3. Bophut's Fisherman’s Village

Village fishermen are a part of Bophut's history, with rustic style buildings including trendy boutiques, trendy restaurants and a few hotels located along Narrow Beach Road.

Every Friday, the entire area becomes the site of the Fisherman Village Walking Market, which attracts a large number of shoppers from all over the island because of its incredible diversity and lively atmosphere.


4. Hin Ta and Hin Yai

Art imitates Nature but is less common than Nature imitates Art, especially the art of ribald. However, in Thailand, it is possible, in Koh Samui, the natural geological formations called Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks (Grandpa and Grandma rocks), which look like male and female genitalia.


5. Koh Tao

Koh Tao - meaning ‘Turtle Island, living up to its name, is the selected diving destination in Thailand. The perfect white sand beaches surrounding the 21 km² hill island are surrounded by the clear waters of the Gulf of Thailand. The dazzling coral reef, home to a variety of interesting and colorful sea creatures, including turtles, naturally.


6. Wat Plai Laem

Located near the large Buddha statue on the north side of the island, Wat Plai Laem is a colorful and interesting Buddhist temple. The temple has very ornate art and decoration, an image of 18 arms of Guanyin - Goddess of Mercy - and a large white Chinese Buddha on the lake.

If you raise money for the maintenance of the temple, you will be given a bag of food to throw to the valuable fish in the lake.


7. Namuang Waterfall

Although Samui has several waterfalls, the two Na Muang waterfalls are perhaps the most beautiful. The name Na Muang refers to the large purple rocks at the waterfall. Rocks and tree roots form a natural staircase that leads to the base of Na Muang 1.

A large natural pool sits under the waterfall. A 10-minute walk further up the mountain leads to Samui's most beautiful waterfall, Na Muang 2.


8. Secret Buddha Garden

Secret Buddha Garden is hidden away high in the hills in Koh Samui's interior, offering majestic views and an unusual collection of statues amid lush jungle surrounds. The gardens were a creation of an old fruit farmer, Nim Thongsuk, who in 1976 began to erect a number of statues and temples around the verdant lands of his family.


9. Mummy Monk at Wat Khunaram

The bodies of Samui's most famous mummified monk - indeed some - Luang Pordaeng is on display here. Luang Pordaeng died more than 20 years ago and according to his instructions, his body was placed in a glass box specially designed for posterity. It has remained there since and has shown some signs of cavities.
