I am so excited to have finally have a list of my favorite restaurants in St. George, Utah!
There is good news and bad news to this post. The bad news is that a lot of popular and favorite restaurants (old and new) are not on this list. I 100% understand the fun and sentimental value of visiting the same restaurants over and over, year after year (my family does this too!), but I’ve chosen to not include several of these spots (I’m not going to mention names) not only to be true to my personal taste, but to keep things consistent with the brand and standards of wikitopx.
The good news is, however, that there are great restaurants in St. George, Utah. After sifting and searching during several trips and through the help of the incredible foodie community, I was finally able to found up a list of restaurants in St George that I would highly recommend to friends and family. Enjoy!
10. HAWAIIAN POKE BOWL
There's shocking group of tasty Hawaiian restaurants in St. George (here is another one of our favorites), but we felt that Hawaiian Poke Bowl was one of the best in the city for poke- a delicious and traditional raw fish salad. Owner Roberta (a Hawaiian native) started this restaurant in 2011 and has been serving her delicious bowls of rice and fish ever since! Roberta and her staff are generous in letting their diners sample different flavors before ordering. Our favorites include the sweet salmon and the spicy ahi.
9. THE LUNCH BOX (CLOSED)
The Lunch Box is a fantastic local spot for homemade sandwiches that taste just as if they were prepared in your own kitchen! Favorite menu items include the Classic Club (baked ham, bacon, smoked turkey, tomatoes, lettuce, toasted on white bread with mayo) and the BLT 8 (classic BLT with extra loaded with even more bacon).
8. RIGGATTI’S WOOD FIRED PIZZA
If you read our recent review on Riggatti’s Wood Fired Pizza, you already know that it’s one of our favorite restaurants in St. George, Utah. With plenty of pizza options in St. George (old and new), we felt like this was the best spots for fresh ingredients, delicious crust, and great customer service. My favorite thing to order is the classic margherita! They have two locations in St George and my favorite is right off of Main and St. George Boulevard.
7. EVEN STEVENS SANDWICHES
I was THRILLED when Even Stevens was added to the inventory of restaurants in St. George, Utah because of their reliably delicious food (see our list of best quick casual restaurants in SLC)! True to their mantra Eat to Give, Even Stevens donates a sandwich to a local nonprofit for every sandwich you purchase at any of their locations. I cycle through favorites but a few of my absolute favorite menu items include the undergrad breakfast burrito (pictured), the sprang chicken sandwich, the pot roast dip, or the mihami vice!
6. BENJA THAI & SUSHI
Say hello to the best curry you can find in southern Utah. While I’m not terribly partial to the sushi here, the thai classics on their menu are to die for! For appetizers start with edamame or thai coconut shrimp. If you’re a fan of pad thai, Benja offers a great rendition with stir fried noodles with eggs, crispy tofu, bean sprouts, scallions, and tamarind sauce, with a side of ground peanuts, bean sprouts and lime. Looking for curry? My favorite is the green curry (pictured above), prepared with rich and smooth coconut milk, a green chili sauce, peas, carrots, bell peppers, bamboo shoots, and basil. You’re going to love it!
5. THE GRANARY CAFE (CLOSED)
Are you looking for the best breakfast in St. George? In my humble opinion, The Granary Cafe located in Santa Clara is the best of all the breakfast options among restaurants in St. George, Utah. The ambiance is absolutely charming with patio seating, beautiful plants, with a classic country French theme. The Granary Cafe is open primarily for breakfast and lunch (dinner on Friday and Saturday). My favorite menu items include the quiche lorraine- eggs, creme fraiche, sweet onions, gruyere cheese, ham and the pain perdu or french toast- French bread soaked overnight and baked with cinnamon, brown sugar, and cream, topped with syrup and creme fraiche.
4. MAD PITA EXPRESS
Have you ever heard the saying never judge a book by its cover? This statement 100% applies when it comes to one of the best restaurants in St. George, Utah- the Mad Pita Express. Situated inside of an inconspicuous strip mall, this fast casual spot serves delicious mediterranean dishes including appetizers, salads, pitas, and rice bowls. We ordered the most popular menu item, the gyro and french fries, and absolutely loved it!
3. PAINTED PONY
Are you looking for something more upscale or formal while selecting from restaurants in St. George, Utah? Our recommendation for a nice lunch or dinner out is to visit the Painted Pony. Located among other popular restaurants on St. George boulevard, this restaurant brags a delightful menu with excellent, nearby art to match it. Favorite lunch menu items include the smoked turkey club (pictured), the grilled tenderloin burger, or the beef brisket panini. Favorite dinner menu items include the bone in pork chop and grilled tenderloin steak.
2. ANGELICA’S MEXICAN GRILL
I knew that when my good friend Danielle told me she eats here for every meal when in St. George (she has great taste), Angelica’s would deliver. Formerly known as Irmita’s Mexican Grill, Angelica’s serves some of the best Mexican food in all of St. George. Everything on the menu is delicious but I highly recommend a shredded beef quesadilla or the carnitas tacos. Always order with a side of avocado and load up on their delicious pico de gallo at the salsa bar. The corn tortilla tacos are literally to die for! Please note their new location.
1. XETAVA GARDENS CAFE
After reaching out to other local foodies regarding restaurants in St George, Utah. It was beautiful obvious that Xetava Gardens Cafe was a must try. During our most recent trip to St. George, we ventured 20 minutes out of St. George to visit this American cafe for lunch, just some time recently heading out of town. Don’t let the location deter you- this is some of the best food we have ever had in St. George! The menu items are simple but all prepared with locally sourced, wild, and organic ingredients. Our favorite lunch things were the Xetava classic burger and the chicken caesar wrap- the flavors were unimaginable! We can’t wait to try the breakfast next time.
